Malibu Restaurant (Kandawgyi Tower)

Lakeside restaurant on the Kandawgyi Tower island within Kandawgyi Park, with superb sunset views over the lake and the golden Karaweik Palace. A newly relocated, spacious spot with a live band and cocktail menu, serving delicious, savoury Thai cuisine from a Thai chef — the tamarind-sauce steamed fish and fresh mud crab are standouts, alongside Asian, Chinese and European dishes. Booking ahead is recommended for a good table; note there's a park entrance fee (which the restaurant is happy to rebate).
